Kingdom Hearts Online (Working Title)

Initial Designs

Before the Japanese team's involvement, I was given more liberty on what I thought would make some cool costume ideas for the game.

The in-house team wanted to put an emphasis on the Disney aspect, so I tried to design 'Kingdom Hearts inspired' Disney heroine motifs.
The 2nd image were design passes based on other designs (which I do not have on me) from the team.

My affinity for Japanese style aesthetics came in handy for this particular project.

Feedback Notes from Japan

Designs would go back and forth from the Japanese team. I would be given notes (translated by their assistant producer at the time), and I would change accordingly.

You can see the progression (from left to right) based on the notes I received.

The Order of Darkness

The production team wanted a full set of antagonists, similar to 'Organization XIII'.

Another artist made the initial pass, and they were handed over to me later to do a 2nd pass to make them feel more  'Kingdom Hearts-like'.

I did my best to evoke the aesthetics and style of Kingdom Hearts, while keeping intact the feel and vibe of the original design.
Any changes were made through my discretion.

The 'Time Queen'

The 'Time Queen' was one of the concepts for what could've been the potential 'Big Bad' for the game.

'Simple And Dirty' Animatic

Done on some spare time, I wanted to propose the tone of how the game's trailer would look like.

It was the equivalent of 'doodling on a napkin' type idea display, where I used existing arts from in-house (additional art by Joy Lee, Daniel Yu) as well as online to quickly portray the idea.

A lot of the elements were not yet in place, but I had a lot of fun creating this. After working on it for about a day's worth, my director gave me another 2 more days to 'finish what I started'.

It was quick, it was dirty... But hopefully the idea was conveyed.
